International Professionals Learning to Access Careers and Employment (I.P.L.A.C.E.)
This program targets motivated and enthusiastic candidates who are looking for a shift in career path. Successful applicants have a passion to help others, a willingness and ability to fully participate in the program and all processes and possess good communication skills both verbal and written.
This 20-week full-time certificate program equips internationally trained individuals with the necessary skills and tools to provide job development, employment consulting and work in the non-profit and profit placement/recruitment industry.
Services
- Individual consultations to help students achieve goals and optimal fit
- Intensive and interactive professional training to enable graduates to work as
client/employer advocates to assist clients to find meaningful employment - Benefit from the knowledge of instructors and guest speakers within the academic and non-profit sectors
- Networking and discussion/group work
- Computer training provided
- Sector specific language instruction
Eligibility
- Unemployed internationally trained individuals who are permanent residents and eligible to work in Canada.
- Must have a degree in Social Sciences (as Human Resources, SocialWork, Business Administration) from a university or a diploma in Marketing, Customer Services or Sales from a community college.
- Must be at Canadian Language Benchmark 8, based on completion of language assesment.
